Anyone here done any independent backpacking? I'm planning a trip soon and was just wondering if anyone had any tips?

We're going to play it mostly by ear, booking the flights but pretty much nothing else. I'm excited but also a bit nervous. I've backpacked before but never for a long period of time (we'd be gone a month).

Any advice would be appreciated!

Sorry about that... I didn't even realize that I didn't say where I was going!

We're planning on going to Greece although that's not set in stone yet.
