Beautiful Canada

Hey all...
For a while now I've been thinking about spending a bit of time in Canada. I've done loads of reading about the country and have spoken to a few friends who've been there, as well as a few Canadians.

Has anyone else been there?? Can you list the good and the bad the place has to offer? What would be the best city to visit/work/or maybe settle in?

Also, has any South Africans been there? What's the visa situation like?

Just been! Its great! My boyfs auntie and grandparents (south african) emigrated 20 years ago, it was easyish. Had to prove that some one over there was willing to provide u with work and complete a test about canada

been there aswell. its great, vancouver and vancouver island are both great. the ski-ing there is also magnificent

i've been to canada twice - once to toronto, once to vancouver and british columbia. I loved it - much better than America!

Went to Canada for my uncle's wedding in '97. Such a great country! Made the most of this chance and visited Toronto (my fav) Montreal, Ottowa (sp?), Quebec City and of course Niagra Falls. Would gladly go boak tomorrow.

I live in BC, so naturally I have to say it's the best part of the country. :P I'm from Ottawa originally, and even though it's nice and everything, BC is really really pretty, and people tend to be a lot more laid back. If I could be anywhere, I'd go stay in Nelson for a while (in the Rockies, an area called the Kootenays) - it's a "historic" town (though nothing's really that old over here) and it's the most beautiful place I've ever been, filled with friendly hippie-types. I'm so going back there sometime...

A few years ago me and the parents went to the Yukon terrotry for about 6 weeks... If you want memories that will last a lifetime this is the kind of place to be- Canada has loads to offer... Great place!!! <IMG alt="image" SRC="tongue.gif" border="0">

Hello everyone,
I live in Montreal and I love my country and my city. Actually the bar that I work at downtown permits me to meet alot of English people, and they have told me some strange rumors about this city. It is not true that we only speak french, and that we are cold/uninviting. I like to think that we know how to have a good time and that we are defenetly one of the more europeen cities of this country.

I invite you all to come down and visit. During the summer alone there are so many things to do:

* Formula 1 races
* Just for laughs festival
* International movie festival
* International food festival
* International Jazz festival
* Great raves from Mai-Oct

...and so much more!

If you can go to Montreal, do it. I grew up (well, went to prep school anyway) nearby and used to go all the time. It is one of my favorite cities anywhere.
It helps if you can speak French.
