Has any of you lot out there been to Cuba?? I fancy going there next year and was just wondering if anyone here had been and what you thought of it??

Been there twice and loved it. Stay out of Varadero, budget more than you would for most "underdeveloped" countries...Must sees are (of course) Habana and Piñar del Rio-area. Didn't go down south, but Santiago and Trinidad sounds like places to go as well.

Memorizing a few phrases in Spanish before going surely wouldn't hurt, as people's English is pretty lousy once you get away from the major touristy spots.
