I think we're fairly lucky to get an education in the first place actually and it's a shame that nobody really values it. You take it for granted and you whine about having to read Shakespeare and I don't care if the whole place hates me, but can you not be so ignorant to just how many children would love to be ABLE to go to school?!! Christ. i'm sorry, one too many reports on life in afghanistan quite possibly- but that's just annoying.

You're entitled to a free education and you can take pretty much whatever the hell you want post 16. You get long holidays as it is and what else are you going to do with your time? Get wasted? Yeahh.. right I see, definitely need more time off school then!!!

I'm turning middle aged , i know. It's just really pissing me off how much everyone (myself too) takes education and what we are entitled to just by living where we do, for granted.

actually, i agree with you freya. it's the wrong attitude, but it's the prevalent one and it aint gonna go away.

imagine how bloody bored we'd be without school, to say the least.

ah fuck it - as much as i think we take education for granted, i'm still sick of it !

Well it's a personal choice and I know you do IB which probably accounts for a lot of hatred for the education system. For some strange reason I'm putting myself a year behind to be entered into the exact same torture. Only nobody from here talks to me anymore (ie msn!!?!) so no one knows of how I'm a drop out no hoper who does nothing all the time. Hence, i appreciate education.

It may be annoying while you are working through school but when you get out you will wish to god that you had put more effort in while you were there.

If I had my time over I would spend a lot less time fucking around and a lot more time workin on getting decent grades.

If you think school is hard, just wait till you get to University. We get far less holidays and much more homework. And as for the exams, its like doing Highers (or A-levels for you English guys who don't get a real education) twice a year for three years (four if you do a Master's)! Well, that's on my course, anyway. Engineering is of course harder than Arty farty courses where they get "reading weeks" because they can't work for a whole term without a break! (joke!)

I think there are a lot of kids in schools who spoil it for everyone else. I wish I had ignored peoples' dumb comments and bullying and worked to the full extent of my potential. I did well at my GCSEs, but I could have done far better.
