UCAS - desperately need help!!

Right, i've left it stupidly late, but was wondering what i should do.
I'm travelling in January so need to sort it out before i go.

I've got a confirmed place at Leeds Uni next autumn which i accepted, but now want to change. Got a new UCAS form, but how do i pull out of my uni choice already gone for? Need some help. Cheers

My best advice is to go to your college careers advisor who should be able to try and help you sort it out. If you pull out of your course you may lose entitlement for funding from your LEA...a little more on that in here: http://www.thesite.org.uk//careers/student_life/the_wrong_course.html

i think technically, according to UCAS, u would have 2 completely withdraw from the scheme 4 this year and re-apply next yr 4 enty in sept 2003. however, as susie's wonderful article pointed out, u can take a (slightly risky) shortcut thru clearing . .

i have a friend who did something like that... her first choice was oxford brookes, but when she got her grades they were better than she expected, and everything changed at the last minute and she wanted to go to exeter instead... i barely saw her for an hour or two after getting my own results, she was on the phone to ucas and the two universities involved! but brookes did release her and she went on to study at exeter.

you should be wary though about doing this, apart from the risks of not being released, not having a place... accommodation is a big problem too. my friend had to spend a few weeks staying at a b&b, so she found it harder to settle in with the people on her floor, and she even had to share a room after all that because the single ones were all taken.
