I'm going to Bristol next September to do Politics and Philosophy.
Meryn(or anyone else @ Bristol)-I'd love to hear an 'insider' view about the uni, because so far I've been given lots very different pov's from people who are basically talking out of their arses!
Also, I was wondering if you could advise me as to which halls I should put down-I'd like 2 B in self-catering and prob around Clifton.
Thanks!

My gf is in Fylde at Lancaster. I don't understand how anyone can live there after living in a city though. Beggars belief.

Oh puhleese, how can you compare English to sports science? I did English and Law A Levels and found Law easier as it comes down to facts. English is more abstract. I had to choose between doing a Law degree or an English degree and I chose English as I think it gives me more choice when I have graduated, and if I do decide to become a lawyer (along with the 50 million other people studying Law-how can the world need so many lawyers?) then I can do a conversion course.

Oxford's the place to be pyrex, thats why!!
Whether you're at THE oxford or Brookes it the atmosphere in this great city that does it! (plus the fact that so many students means great discounts!!)

Wheres the discounts? Oxford, though being great, is a rip off.

most of the shops give you student discount (WH Smiths, Superdrugs, Jessops etc) Mcdonalds is even in on the act withits free cheeseburger 4 students. i've git offers 4 Bella Pasta(25% discount), pizza hut, dominos, Park End and countless more. I agree that it is an expensive city but it doesn't do too badly 4 the students! Plenty of cheap booze if u know where to look
