WOW! I was pleased to hear today about a certain American based ISP that is going to offer UK people a better deal on the net. (I won't mention the name, 'cos that would be advertising them, but it was a prominent story on the national news anyway!)
For sure this can only be good for us UK customers who tend to get shafted, unlike our US counterparts, whether it be on food, clothes, the Internet or credit card APR's.
Watch out for an ensuing price war as the other ISPs attempt to keep their customers...oh, and go get yourself a bargain!

a week or two on from the original announcememnts and some further details have come out. like how with altavista's service (i don't mind naming them) they knock you off if you are dormant for two hours. so much for being able to have permenant conections to the web.
will also be intersting to see what the connection speeds are like.

These Free conections are a good thing for us UK users, but on the down side. A couple isp's i have heard of disconnect every 2 hours.
What good is this when your downloading or in the middle of making a perchase over the net.

It took me all evening (on my freephone number) I got disconnected 4 times, but because of Gozilla and it continuing where it had left off, there was no corruption.

[This message has been edited by j9j9 (edited 02-05-2000).]
