My girlfriend who is 17 is on a Government Training Scheme.Rate of pay-£1.37 per hour!!!,£55 per week. This sickens me because she works in a shop doing the same job as everyone else and they get paid at least £4.00 per hour.Im sure u will agree with me that this is stupid and that the government should make this up to the 17 year old minimum rate of pay. <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif">

i think the whole point of YTS schemes and others like it is slave labour.

i started on a YTS which is how i got my current job (day release type thing to start with), at the time i worked 40 hours a week for £40. however the government funded training group receive £4 an hour from boss for keeping me in the training group. that means they made 4 times the amount they paid me and god knows what else from the government!

i most definatly stinks!

It does answer the "Where do we get experience" question.

But it is horribly low

Do you get any benefits while you're on the training schemes?
