I'm 16 & I really want a tattoo, but I don't really know the facts.
Firstly, what exactly does it feel like? I don't have a problem with pain or needles, but if it's that painful...
secondly, how sore are you afterwards? my mate had one and he said it really hurt & was dead sore.
finally, how long will I have to bite the bullet?

well, i got a tattoo over a year ago, it aint exactly big but i love it.
i have to say i heard it hurts, but i found gettin mine quite funny, so i giggled the whole time.
id say the out line hurt the most, but it wasnt the worst experience in my life.
i will also preach u have to b 18 (it think) but i had mine when i was 17 so im contradicting myself.
i know u cant give blood 4 a while afterwards, but ur 16 so ur ok.
make sure u go to a clean, respectable place aswell.
and another thing is ur stuck with it 4 the rest of ur life, so pick it carefully, and pick its location carefully 2.
what do u want to get?
i want my name in chinese across the base of my back now, but i dont have a clue where to find that out, i alsdo want tweety pie on my bum cheek!

I know loadsa ppl who have had tattos, I was gonna get 1 with em but damn glad I didn't now... they look cool but at a young age the skin stretches n makes it look shit, then u get it redone n have bits added kinda gets too much after a while... + ppls taste change.. the 1 I would've had back then I wouldn't want now... but then some ppl like em n they do look good sometimes...

There is no way you can have Helen written in Chinese because there are no Chinese characters for it.

What ppl do is find the nearest Chinest words to their name. But then sometimes it sounds stupid in Chinese. Like its not meant to be a name if u know what I mean.

My name is Melissa and the nearest chinese characters to my name sound like Ma-Lai-Sa. If you asked me to right this in Chinese characters though I would have no idea because I don't read or write Chinese.

Also, Chinese names normally only consist of 2 syllables so I only use Ma-Lai. This is also a translation for Mary.

I think the nearest to Helly or Helen would be Ha-Lei and to me that sounds like Bully You in Chinese.

Back to the original question though...
I had a tatoo a while ago and I have to say it bloody hurt me. I am a bit of a weed though and I think the pain really depends on where u get it done and how high your pain threshold is!
The colouring didnt hurt at all but it was the outline that totally fucked me. However I didnt think it hurt that much after, although it did itch when it scabbed over. If u scratch it the colour fades so dont go doin that. Unfortunatly Ive gotta put myself through the torture again, as mine has faded due to the baby stretching my belly so much ( <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif">). Oh well, it cant be worse than labour can it??!!!!
