BUT...rumour has that that after the Tories' expected massive defeat come 7 June (hee hee), the new leader will either be Widdecombe or Portaloo - *shudder*

Widdecombe...did anyone watch that show the other with Angus Deayton...I've Got News For You? Something like that. I reckon that if the tories go down to another massive defeat (200+ seats), the party will split up - one pro-european faction (led, presumable by john redwood or one of his cronies) and one anti-european (in alliance with the hopeless UKIP perhaps), led most likely by portaloo, with 'the MUMMY' (thatcher) in the wings pulling the strings like a demented vulture. Problem is, if the tories split up over europe, so will everyone else. that's why they're all trying their hardest to circumvent the issue in this election - labour and the lib-dems would be unelectable, the tories would split, and we'd be left with an unworkable parliament. so much for dealing with the issues that really count......
