I started taking the pill three days ago, and I havent missed one. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend two days ago. We were both worried, so we went to a damily planning clinic, where I was told that if I didnt miss a pill this week, then I wouldnt get pregnant. However, on the pages on this very website, it says you should use additional contraceptive methods for up to a week! I'm very confused, not to mention rather scared about getting pregnant, especially after reading another notice on the board about a girl who fell pregnant after getting duff information!! What do I do??

Okay, don't panic. Here's the advice given to us by the Family Planning Association:
If you are taking 'phasic combined pills' (21 pills in the packet and followed by a 7-day break) or the progestogen-only pill (mini-pill), if you take the first pill on the same day that your period starts you will be protected at once.
If you start taking this kind of pill on any other day (ie not the first day of your period) you are not protected for the next 7 days and should use additional contraception (such as condoms).
If you are taking 'everyday combined pills' (one every day with no 7-day break) and take the first pill on the first day of your period then you are not protected from pregnancy for the first fourteen days.
