About the older guy thing... Well I ended a relationship with a 33 year old bloke a couple of months ago. I'd been seeing him since I was 18 and he was 29. At first I thought he was mature, sophisticated etc, etc... BUT after he messed me around and cheated on me over 3 and a half years of immature, non-committal behaviour I realised he only went out with me because he was incapable of having a normal, mature relationship with someone his own age, who might occassionally question his pathetic behaviour. I must say, I think the older bloke thing is a bit pants. Basically, they're podgier, wrinklier and (in general) huge bastards. I was going out with this bloke who was 35 (but when we met he said he was 25, so even he thought his age was a problem!) Basically it was crap. In every respect (the words "weiner" and "bleached acorn" come to mind) and in retrospect the whole relationship was absolute shite. Age difference does not become such an issue as you get older e.g. 40 yo man and 25 yo woman so long as both parties are happy. You see this all the time - the older man and younger woman. I think the reason for it is because women are generally more mature than men of the same age. In addition, men tend to have less energy as they get older and look to a younger woman to look after them!

Whereas 30 yo man with 15 you girl is more dodgy. The main motivation for this relationship is sexual. As I have said before, the emotional and mental difference in that age group is considerable.

That said, a lot of men like the idea of a younger, fitter, less saggy woman! And the payoff for the younger woman is that the older man is more experienced, without question (and is probably wealthier which means can treat her better).

And I also do not agree that 30+ people should be written off because of generalisations about their body. I may be 30, but have the looks and body of a 25 YO because I eat well and work out a lot!!

At the end of the day, I think it has to be mutual consent that determines if it is right or not - so long as both are happy, and it's not illegal or abusive - what's the big deal ?
