Home kilns and PMC

I want to buy myself a mini kiln to use at home for firing pmc, any ideas/suggestion/recomendations of what to go for? I already have my eye on a paragon SC-2 but would like to hear from someone with experience. Also apart from the obvious (placing it on a heatproof surface, fire extinguisher on hand and using heatproof gloves) what other precautions do i need to take etc?

Also has anyone worked with PMC/metal clay? i really want to make jewellery but i need some tips.
