Does anyone know of any free pc performance optimisers? All the ones I can find are either full of spware etc or have very limiting trial modes. Yeah I know I should pay for them but I'm in cheapskate mode today and I don't do 'cracked' versions.

Running Vista btw

I've sworn by Tonyarts' "Easy Cleaner" for several years. It gives you a temporary file checker that you can purge. It has a registry cleaner too, but I'm always wary about those and tend to avoid it. It can also graphically display your hard drive as a pie chart and tell you which folders are taking up the most space. V. handy feature.

For disk defragging, look no further than Auslogics.

Both works in Vista and XP and they're both free.

Cheers guys :)

Anyone know of a free driver updater? All the ones I've found have the annoying trial version that'll tell you that you need to update drivers but won't allow you to do it unless you pay - and I'm feeling cheap...

I use this. (TuneUp)
But in reality these 'tune up' utilites don't really do nothing. If you really want to speed up your computer, remove backup files, defrag your drives, perhaps do a OS reinstall every year at most, disable system restore, use more portable apps, and disable all fancy effects on the appearence.
