Hi all, I'm toying with an idea to live in Spain but I don't know where to look for the best information.
Has anyone got any good links or advice?

Where abouts in Spain? Mainland? Island? Tourist resort or elsewhere?

I'm looking around Alicante really, Benidorm, Torrevieja the ex-pat area.

Been on holiday in June to Benidorm and have stayed in Torrevieja two years running a few years back now.
Apparently Torrevieja is quite rough, high rates of crime etc though I remember the town centre being lovely!
I didnt like Benidorm was too commercialised and cheesy and full of shit. The stags and hens rule the place and it's pretty bogstandard. But it would probably be easy to get work in a bar in Benidorm!
my parents own an apartment in Quesada. pretty close to Benidorm area. that's a nice town. full of expats.

I think I'd prefer somewhere other than Benidorm, What's Quesada like? Busy, quiet? I stayed in Playa Flamenca just outside Torrevieja, really liked it there.
I went to Benidorm years ago - we stayed in a private apartment - it was OK nothing special - the English influence was very overpowering but it wasn't hard to walk to another part of town and be in a Spanish area.
I did feel a great sense of freedom there but I think I feel that almost anywhere I got outside of the UK that is near the ocean.

After 18 years of living in the Alicante area we moved to Baza in Granada province to live in a cave house 3 years ago. We love it here, it's different, unspoilt and only just over an hour from the coast if we fancy it. Check out [URL="http://www.cavehousecountry.com/"].
