This game makes me sad I don't have a PS3, but then I remember Gears of War 2.

Unfortunately I don't know of too much else to get excited about, especially now the additional content for GTA has been postponed. :grump:

I've just played Twin Snakes. Love the story, hate the gameplay.

Don't attempt MGS4 if you haven't played MGS 1, 2 and 3. That way you'll get the most out of it. Cut scenes are lengthy, but worth it. Full of twists and revelations, unless you've read loads about it already and spoiled it for yourself :p I have it almost finished :(

I think if I ever do anything about MGS 2,3 and 4 it will be reading spoilers or seeing if anyone has made a "movie" out of the cut-scenes. No way am I playing an MGS game again.

I don't know about Metal Gear - I always like the idea of the games but then hate them when I actually play it. Metal Gear 2 burnt me badly - although not the worse game I ever played it was without doubt the game I've hated the most in my life.

I detest excessive cut scenes and the game mechanics of Metal Gear always seem deliberately obtuse as well, which doesn't help.

So don't know, I think if anything I might pick up a ps2 and try Metal Gear 3 again and if that doesn't make me hate it consider 4.

In the end though the games just seem to prove to me the difference between real film making and the level of quality tolerated in game cutscenes - there's nothing I've ever seen from Kojima that I could accept as just something to watch rather than something just getting in the way of the game.

I understand why people like Metal Gear, but just isn't for me I think - maybe in 2/3 years when I can pick it up form nothing

Just finished act one.

I'm enjoying more than I thought I would. I can't be arsed with 'proper' stealth, so I stuck it on easy and I've been using the silenced pistol to kill anyone that gets in my way.

So I'm not running and gunning but I'm not fussed if I get caught.

Controls way better than any other Metal Gears, but it's still...convoluted.

David Hayter sounds like he's been gargling gravel.

Just finished this tonight :) Really long ending, but if you're a fan of the series you'll lap it up. Loved the game from start to finish :)

I beat the first boss last night before I went to bed.

The exposition that followed was so ridiculously stupid that it may have broken the game for me.
