I know you need to report it if your passport is lost but what about your passport details?

I've sent at least 3 copies of my passport to the security department where I work but they keep managing to lose them. Should I report this? I'm rather concerned that someone could be using my details for identity theft or something like that.

Plus if I had to replace my passport it might cause the incompetant toss pots to rethink things when I'll only be able to work domestics

Most definately ...you could get yourself in trouble for ignoring it so many times.

Who do I report it to? Do I have to pay for a new passport or will the company need to cough up since its their fault

You could report it to the Information Commissioner as well, they over see the data protection act which has clearly been broken here.

I would also make a written complaint at work and make sure you keep a record.

I wouldn't really worry too much about photocopies of your passport going missing - if they really wanted to use your details they'd just copy the photocopies and you'd never know.

But sometimes an anonymous email to the right dept can also be a good way to let management know what's going on.
