Tax???

i started my first job when i finished collage last year, ive had this job for about 6/7 months, i had to fill in a p46 as i did not have a p45. i was just wondering if anyone knows the avrage percentage rate for tax as at first i though it was just emergancy tax but it doesnt seem to be going down. it just seems like a big chunk taken out n makes working pointless. :impissed:

If you have been emergencied ...you will l get a big fat pay back one day soon ...phone up the IRS.

You'll get a better answer from someone else BUT as a rough guide you get slightly over £5000 tax free, then you were paying 10% tax on the next chunk, and 22% on the bit after that.

This changed this month. You now get around £5500 tax free and then pay 20% tax on the next chunk.
