approaching 25 i believe i am now eligable for Working tax credits but its something im not in the know about at ALL.
whats the crack, i know they take our joint income into account and having a look through a few websites it appears we may earn too much, does anyone know the threshold?
thanks

You do both earn too much I'm afraid my loves. There isn't an exact rule, and variations such as whether or not you're disabled or over 50 change the boundaries, but money you and Emma earn is taken into account until you are below the minimum award. Roughly speaking, a normal couple with a joint income of over about £17500 isn't going to qualify.
There's a fact sheet here (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/TaxCreditsandChildBenefit/TaxCredits/DG_4015483)

i see, thats rather low, we nearly double that, so no chance there! i can see why they do it now, no way could we like on £17k a year. ouch
thanks for the fact sheet, i'll have a quick look at that.

There's also some information on TheSite.org on Tax credits (http://www.thesite.org/homelawandmoney/money/benefitsandtax/taxcredits)that you may find useful...
