Next day delivery

I might have got what I expect from 'next day delivery' wrong so feel free to correct me.
I ordered something online on Wednesday night and paid an extra £5.50(!!) for next day delivery because I need/want it before I go away on Sunday

So Wednesday night, and it said it would be despatched by 11am the next working day which was Thursday - surely? So ergo I was expecting it today but it hasn't arrived

Do we think it'll come tomorrow? What do I do if it doesn't come - can I get my super fast and super expensive postage costs back?

What delivery firm do they use for it. I've had problems with city link not delivering on the next day. Usually get the delivery charges back though whenever I've complained about it. Phone up and ask them to trace the item and see what's happening with it.

wednesday night isn't a working day...they can't process the order until thursday, surely? i'd expect it on fri/sat at any rate

i'd think you have to do it before 1700 on any given day in order to qualify for such luxuries!

Yes, but if she ordered it Wednesday night then the order would be with them by Thursday, they process it and it arrives Friday if it's next day...

Yes I know, but it said the order would be processed by 1100 of the next working day - day after wednesday is thursday no?

It should have arrived today. The idea of next day delivery being that you get it the next (working) day after your order. You put it in Wed evening, they should have processed and despatched it on Thursday and it should have turned up today. If not you wont see it until Monday, at which point you should be asking for a refund of your postage.

They've sent me this email today:

When I click the link it doesn't work though

Surely when I paid for next day delivery it means being delivered the next working day as opposed to being despatched the next working day and to arrive in 3-5 working days

Just have, they're going to memail the delivery people and are giving me a refund on my postage costs - wahey :D

Will have to use my make-up sparingly in the mean time :p

I know when Royal Mail say "Next Day Delivery" what they mean is.....as long as we're not busy it'll probably be there the next day. We have loads of trouble with it at work.

From what I hear though, if you don't receive it the next day you can claim the extra back when u asked for it to be delivered next day

Wel using royal mails special next day delivery, i have never had too many problems.
