i'm moving out of what is effectivly sheltered housing soon, to go live with my boyfriend. I've been paying rent and Tv licence, but not a lot else.

So i'm wondering,
A) whats the easiest and cheapest way of paying the leccy, gas, etc
B) what can i do asides the obvious (turning off lights, having the heating a degree lower etc) to save money
C) Is it worth taking out contents insurance and how much may that cost (roughly)

danke mucho

BUDGET! Draw up a budget now now now, and then you will know exactly what you have spare for each area of expenditure which will make it more difficult to overspend.

Meal plan in advance so that you don't waste money when food shopping by making impulse purchases, which often end up being wasted anyway as they go out of date and get thrown away.

If possible shop as much as possible at markets as they are almost always much cheaper than supermarkets.

Pay utilities by direct debt and use Quidco to switch to the cheapest package, so that you get cash back for searching for the best supplier for you.

Yes, get insurance. It depends massively from area to area on cost but we pay £20 a month for combined building and contents, whereas you will only need contents.
