i think the only way to get rid is a course of antibiotics, as i fabulously found out.

Hi lostgirlie,
Like the other replies have said antibiotic tablets are the quickest and most effective method of getting rid of Bacterial Vaginosis so it’s probably best to go and see your doctor ASAP. Sex is probably off the cards tonight.
When you go to the doctor you will probably have to take a test to confirm you have BV. There are several different antibiotics that can be used to treat BV and can either be taken as a single dose or over a longer course (about a week). There are also various creams available which can help reduce any itching or discomfort.
To get more information on the BV and treatments check out the FPA’s page (http://www.fpa.org.uk/information/leaflets/documents_and_pdfs/detail.cfm?contentid=172#19)or netdoctor (http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/vaginitis.htm).
TheSite.org also has an article on vaginal health (http://www.thesite.org.uk/healthandwellbeing/generalhealth/womenshealth/vaginalhealth).
Hope this helps :thumb:

the only way to get rid of it is antibiotics, and stay away from synthetic undies, and only use gentle shower gel...

BV, smells like something crawled up there and died :(
I was given a dose of metronidazole, and given a pessary for thrush as the antibiotics can trigger that sometimes. I was also given a tube of aqueous cream to wash with, I stopped using shower gel for that area, and it really made a difference.
