I don't know how many people here have a coil, but I have the mirena and I have a question that's been bugging me for a while and I've looked online and I can't find an answer.
How do I check my strings?
I have no idea. I've tried feeling for them, and someone said to feel for my cervix but my fingers just aren't long enough! I've also asked my partner to feel for me but he can't seem to reach either. I've tried laying, squatting and having my legs up. Is there some sort of knack to doing this or do I just have an exceptionally long vagina?
It's really starting to concern me as I've never been able to check my strings.
Obviously I can't get a doctors appointment due to the current time of year, and I also feel quite embarrassed. I asked my mum, who also has a mirena, and she laughed and said "You should just be able to reach and feel it hanging down". Great help that was!
I'm almost certain it's still in there and doing it's job because it's doing everything it's supposed to do still. I'd just like to be able to check my strings!
