Dollars with my credit card?

Can I use my credit card to buy something in dollars over the internet? Will it charge me lots and lots or anything? The thing I want is $12

Generally yes you can use them. It will normally have a charge for conversion, which will probably be a bit higher than if you converted the money in a post office or something.
