Right soooo. I've not been on a plane/abroad since i was 14 and i'm 21, i think this is partly to do with me working myself up in that space of time and now it has become a huge deal, but it's mostly to do with me being really quite claustraphobic, and i get such bad headaches on planes, and then there is the obvious, i'm scared of dying in a plane crash and terrorists and all that blah, don't laugh!

Anyway i think i have nearly been persuaded to go on a plane, nearly, it all started when i was looking at ferries to amsterdam and they were nearly £200 quid and then i found flights there for £1.33...

But then i thought if i was going to go on a plane why not go on a proper holiday, so i thought of greek islands and stuff, i've been to corfu before and i really liked it, even cyprus that was good too, but i would have to sit on a plane for ages (in my opinion :p)
Sooo then i thought what about the Balaeric's as they are a lot nearer so a shorter flight, but i have been Ibiza twice before and spain is a bit blah compared to greece, so then it went back to Amsterdam.

And now i can't decide, help!

I made a handy list of Pro's and Con's too, haha :p

Amsterdam -
Cheap
1 hour flight
Boyf won't need extra time off work.
Would be interesting place to visit.
Might die on plane
No option for swimming in the sea
No sun fun.

Greece -
I love the greek islands
Nice weather
Even better food.
Long (for me) flight
Might Die on Plane
More expensive
Boyf would have to take some time unpaid.

Balaerics -
Shorter flight
Cheaper
Can go for 4 or 5 nights so Boyf wouldn't have to miss work
Should still be sunny
I've been Ibiza before and spains not that great compared to greece
Might die on Plane.

None -
I wouldn't die on plane
No embaressing situation at airport if i chicken out
I would save money
I wouldn't get to go on holiday
I would waste my week off work

Hmmm, I can't decide!

Balaerics. I've never been there, but don't judge the whole of a country based on one island :p. It also appears to have far fewer cons than all the others :p.

No you dont, you might have done when you went on one 7 years ago but that doesnt mean it needs to be an issue now.

In terms of dying, you may be scared of it but the likelyhood is very very small, you are far more likely to die in a car crash.

Anyway, over to the choices, I didnt really like the 'Dam all that much, it was intersting enough for a couple of days, but I wouldnt go for longer than that.

I havent been to the others so I cant really comment.

I agree with budda...if anything, air travel is one of the safest ways to get anywhere, so long as you're flying with a reputable operator and all. Security's pretty tight these days, and the people in charge of operating the machinery know what they're doing. Air crash statistics are really overrated...you think about all the thousands of flights that go around the world each day that have no incident whatsoever, compared to the ones that do. Its almost like saying, "i don't wanna drive anywhere because of all the P-plater hoons that are on the roads".
