Hey

Am single for the first time in years and really really need/want a holiday!!

Bin travelling a fair amount before, mainly wanna chill and explore a bit.
My issue is have no one to go with!! my mates are either tied up with babies, or boyfriends/husbands, or single and going on amazingly expensive holidays that I cant afford to go with them.:banghead:

Have looked around a bit on the internet - 18-30 is so not my thing, I would be the oldest there for starters, but the other singles holidays Ive looked at sound a bit creepy. I dont want to go on holiday to cop off with someone or meet a bloke or anything, just wanna chill in the sun with some cool people. Also cant afford the singles supplements that places slap on. Hav no objection to hostelling, which is the option so far I think, but if anyones got any other wicked ideas???
 Am pretty stuck for inspiration.

I've been away on my own countless times! Generally, I've done it in two ways:

a) Splash out on the decent hotels, spoil yourself a bit, do some relaxing or some quality sightseeing and generally have the best damn "me time" you'll ever have! If that's a bit on the expensive side though...

b) Hostels! Definitely the easiest way to meet people when travelling. You all have something in common, and it's only common courtesy to get to know those you're effectively living with! Definitely the best option in my opinion if you want to meet decent people.

Travel in odd numbers is always expensive for hotel rooms - just booked 4 days away for myself and 2 friends and finding a 3 bedded room is difficult - god know if the rooms we'll actually get have 3 single beds or 1 double and a single.. plan to remail the hotel before we arrive...

I went to Morocco and Spain by myself last year and really enjoyed it, mostly. I went independently and then booked onto an overland tour of Morocco, it was camping, cooking our own food, etc. That was better than being alone.

I'd suggest going to a STA travel place and seeing what they have in terms of group tours.
