Can "home" be considered plants too?

How do you make the curly bamboo? I see it in the stores all the time, the bamboo stalks are all curly and fun. Like this http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=curly+bamboo&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-501&x=wrt Do you just take all the baby plants growing out of it and just twist them around something and let them grow that way?

Also, I have like 4 in a vase, and they've all grown alot since I"ve bought them, I want to move a couple of them as they've overgrown but all the roots are tangled together, can I just cut them apart or will that kill them all?

Ribbon Dracaena. It grows curly, though i'd imagine they use a tube round the center to make it grow in a uniform spiral for the florist trade.
