hi,
im getting into breakbeats really, as in ive heard it a couple of times and liked it and been told that its breakbeats.
however when trying to track down artists or music to download on the internet im stumped( never been good with the comp anyway).
can anyone recommend any artists or compilation albums at all?
and this may sound really random but theres a breakbeats track i LOVE with the vocal ''shake it up girl shake it like its for the cameras'' etc.. does anyone know what this track is called? ha i suppose getting the answer to that is going to be nigh impossible but ah well.
thanks to anyone who can help me out.:thumb:

google those lyrics. breakbeat can be anything from downtempo soul to technical itch (hard) Drum an bass.
if you want to get into breaks i'd recomend seeking out: some big beat like fatboy slim, some hybrid, then maybe some dj zinc (drum an bass breaks).
you might not like the tune, but check out the Winstons: Amen Brother. there's a break in the middle of that tune which inspired millions of ppl to write breakbeat music. lots around. old hardcore music had a lot of breaks in it, check out - Urban Hype - Trip to Trumpton (ignore the cheesy rave samples - hugh peugh barney mcgrew) there are mixes of Trip without that, but fairly rare.

forum.breakbeat.co.uk
this site should come with a warning - its mostly NotSafeForWork and you should certainly be thick skinned..
not sure if it'll help your quest but some of the forum member's mixes are good.

Most types of dance music have a sort of "breakbeat" sub genre...
But proper proper breakbeat is kinda like a grimyer version of house music. your looking for artists like Plump DJ's, Stantan Worriors, Lee Combs, Krafty Kuts, The Freestylers, Soul of Man...
As I say it depends on what your actually meaning by breakbeat... here is an example of a really good breakbeat tune, see if its the sort of thing you like...
Krafty Kuts - Bass Phenomenon (http://www.jamesm.ourwebnet.com/DJ/BassP.mp3)
If you live anywhere near to London get yourself to Fabric one night... they have some wicked breakbeat nights there.

seen krafty cuts a few time and one of the boys there pretty good nice bloke too. Brighton has some quality breaks nights, most mainstream dance tunes at the moment tend to get a breaks makeover too. As the rush comes by motorcycle has got a pretty good breaks remix.

Like JamesZero said, I'd go for the freestylers, stanton warriers, plump djs, and krafty kuts. The last two tend to mix in other songs, kinda like 2manydjs do but in a more breakbeat fashion.
A good album in Stanton sessions vol.2 by Stanton Warriers (went to see them and the freestylers on friday!), but I'm not too keen on their current songs.

2 Many DJ's are amazing live... I have only seen them once when I was in Barcelona, it was such a good night!
I saw Krafty Kuts not long ago and they had a live drummer with them, that was in Fabric. It was on a nite where the main room was breakbeat and room 2 was DnB (cant remember what room 3 was)... was a wicked night.
