Yep, just so I can equal it out i.e how much excercise I should do, stuff like that. I wouldnt say I obsess over it though.

Sometimes. I like to have an idea of where i come in calorie wise, but i don't obsess over it at all.

No. Too much counting. I'm not going to be "one of them" :p I do not have that many fingers. I just eat when I'm hungry and it seems to work thus far.

course not, I'm a guy :p

besides, I know I eat a pretty healthy balanced diet. and obsessing over numbers on a packet cant be healthy

I never have done. If I've dieted I've just cut down to 3 meals a day, breakfast and lunch always healthy and whatever I've wanted for dinner. If I'm tempted to snack I have things liek Ryvita with cottage cheese, toms, cucumber, maybe a bit ofd turkey etc. And it has ALWAYS worked.

Not anymore.

I used to be obsessed with counting calories though to the extent that I knew the amount of calories in everything. It was silly, I knew how many calories were in stupid things like sauces, various drinks, etc. I also got that obsessed that I started writing down the calories of foods into my little diet diary thingy and recorded how many calories I'd eaten and what not.

This is back in the day where I had a eating problem of some sort and would only eat one Mc'Donalds fruit bag throughout the whole day and only drink diet coke or water. It made me miserable.

I'd never count calories again tbh. It would be so so easy for me to obsess over it again.

It does cross my mind sometimes though about how many calories I've consumed in a day but I think everyone does that from time to time tbh.

I do, but I spend 4 lunchtimes a week with diet obsessed girls, so it comes as a given. Like when I had my chocolate flapjack the other day, I was asked:

"How many calories are in THAT?"
"394."
"That's more thanmy whole lunch!! It more than your pasta!!!"

I do sometimes feel like going "Oh no, the world is now obviously going to end because I decided I wanted a chocolate flapjack!" but never mind. If I diet, I use SlimFast (works fine for me) and then I just eat sensibly and exercise regularly otherwise. But I'm not depriving myself of chocolate flapjacks, for anybody!! :)

I've never counted calories, if I look at anything on the nutritional information then I look at the fat and sugar content. I'm mindful of those factors if I'm trying to be healthy/lose weight.

Well exactly. ANd if it wasn't for upstanding members of the community, like yourself, this country would be over run with chocolate flapjack :D

Exactly! I went into Boots on Monday and there were only two.... (so obviously I bought one), but I went in yesterday and there was a whole shelf full!! They'd bred overnight!

Therefore I must go into college in a moment and consume one. I must save the world from these evil (but gorgeous) cakes! :D

not calories. i have no idea how many calories i should be taking in per day or how much i actually take in. i do look at fat content and sometimes sugar content though.

To a certain extent yes i count calories and fat - plus i also count my five a day fruit and veg.

however i do also quite often and ususally went eating out forget all about calories and fat etc - which probably explains why i'm a bit lardy - oops

Nope because I have no idea what they are, how they equate to anything or have any interest in obsessing over what I eat.

Mmm, food

Not obsessively, but I do watch them as well as fat, sugar and salt content.

I only ever really look at calorie content when I'm at work because what they feed us is utter shite and I try to go for the healthier option

it always amazes me how a cheese salad sandwich the size of the palm of my hand can have 395672394756934 squillion calories in it

I generally eat what i like, might put a bit of weight on from time to time and I'll watch what I eat for a bit to get rid of it again which apparently makes me obsessed

Now we've spoke about this exageration of yours. You know damn well a cheese salad sarnie, the size of your palm, has 395672394756933 squillion calories :D

sometimes when im trying to watch my weight after putting on abit, i am at the moment cos ive just gone over my "happy to be at weight". i know pretty much how much calories are in things though anyway,

bout a year ago i used have a calorie book where id go through my cupboards write down the food the fat and the calories in it. then id check it beforei ate something to see if it was ok, i wouldnt let myself eat anymore than 1000 calories a day at the most, an if im honest it worked it was hard though and ive never been able to stick to it again.

but like rachie said its wierd how soemthing can have so many calories, i always check stuff that i buy from shops or canteens and can never usually find much, especially in ready made sandwiches that have a low amount of calories

I don't, I've gone down the road of being sensible in my eating instead. Upping fruit+veg, eating proper meals, reating regularly and am adding exercise.

However I do often check what's in the stuff I eat, not for calories but for sugar, nutrasweet or salt and things like that. I occasionally check the fat content but that's usually only if I'm comparing similar food items.

I thought that when I'd move out I'd only eat microwave pizza for all meals. Turns out I'm developing a passion for cooking healthy and proper home meals. ;)

Umm No, thats a really really bad idea for me. It would set me off with a food obbession if I started to do that. I know roughly whats in things, and I do sometimes check how many are in food before I but/eat it. I just tend to eat what I like, but I do need to watch my weight as I have a hormonal imblance which makes me put on weight really easily. :grump: But I dont think I've ever going to be skinny/size 12 etc so I just accept the fact.

no, I don't count. But, I know how it works - more in needs more out or more goes on. I eat fruits and stuff that you can't really count the cals of anyway.
