:nervous: :yuck:
when I first started working as a waitress in a hotel, no one explained what blue was and I thought the customer was having a laugh when he asked for blue.

I love steak blue when it's done properly - Steak Tartare is the best way to eat beef.

I voted rare because there was no option for blue. :(

i wouldn't worry. Rare is good enough. I don't generally have blue steak from resturants here anyway. It's just when I've been to France I found Steak Tartare the most amazing dish.

My S.O Nick thinks i'm a philestine, i always have mine well done. I'm a little funny about eating meat as it is, i hate to be reminded that it was once a living animal. So bloody is a big no no.

Sorry but I think if you can't except that meat was once a cute fluffy animal, you shoudln't really eat it.

It's one of the reasons why some farming pratices are so shit, people forget and don't care where it comes from.

I agree with that to a certain extent. Although I must admit to being put off by a hog roast once. Couldnt be doing with the pig on a spit staring at me so decided not to have any.
Mind you, might have had something to do with the magic mushrooms too.

You havn't been eating proper steak. Buy a fillet steak from Waitrose, and cook it medium rare and then tell me eating it is hard work.

Best steak I ever had though was in Africa, made from local beef. totally yummy.

Cooking steak isn't hard.
There's plently of sauces you can use to cook steak but one of my faves is so simple.

Buy a fillet, rub crushed pepper corns into both sides. Chuck it into a red hot pan and seal both sides quickly. I then add a little dry sherry, flashit up (beware of the flames) and then add a little cream. Jobs a good 'un.

Of course if you don't liek rare steak it's worth cooking the steak a little after you've sealed it, but before you''ve added the sherry and cream.

Eat with mashed potato or chips.

Else you can buy a fillet steak, chop it up fine and add chopped onion and herbs to make a raw minced ball of steak, similar to an uncooked burger. Then take a yolk form a raw egg and stick it on top. Yio then have Steak Tartare - food of the gods.

It's got to be rare to medium...
I like it rare enough that it's still full of flavour and juice but not so rare that it looks like it just been cut straight off the cow..I like it so you can actually tell it's been cooked to a certain extent.

Ew people talking about using there chips to soak up the blood freaks me out.
I have my steak medium rare, maybe it's cuz I always have steak in spoons but it's never got actual blood dripping from it and I don't think i'd want it too.
Haven't had a steak in aaages. Want one now!

Well when I say herbs or spices it's supposed to have Dijon mustard, chili sauce, cappers, parsley, pepper, salt and oil. Still it's not complicated - you just have to mix up.
And if you don't like it raw simply fry it off and it makes a superb burger.
