What kind of milk to drink alone/with tea/with coffee/with cereal/with whatever.

I want to see if I'm the only 'weird' person for only drinking blue milk as it's the only one that actually tastes of milk.

Blue. Because it's yummy. We don't get it very often though :(. It's usually green. But like, we never get red. Red is horrid.

Give a shit. I feel this is of use as you can tell a lot by what milk they drink as with so many things in life.

Plus there's a tea thread further down the page which is still here.

Semi skimmed because if I drank full fat, I'd be even more of a heffer, I don't need any extra fat thankyou kindly!

Mum drinks skimmed though.... when I've used it because theres no green going..... ick.

Whole milk without a doubt. I'll take semi-skimmed if I must but I'd never buy it.

Skimmed milk is like cloudy water, I don't see the point.

Milk in your tea is just plain wrong...

Having said that would under normal circumstances buy full fat for cooking and gold top for the hubbies cereal - however seeign as i hardly ever use any milk i usually buy semi skimmed - from the milk man because it lasts longer.

Skimmed milk has far more good stuff than bad stuff taken out of it and all milk is low fat. I did a whole module on milk production at university though and its pretty crap for the cows so i probably shouldn't buy any dairy products ever.

Blue full fat milk forever!!!
I love it (although this doesn't happen as often these days) when you open a new bottle of blue full fat milk and pour it onto your cereal and the first bit that comes out is basically cream...mmmm

Soya milk. Been using it for about 18 months now. Can't imagine going back to using cows' milk though. When I used to have cows milk, it was nearly always the one with the green top/ (semi skinned?)

SuzyCreamcheese

usually semi skimmed, and usually UHT for the sake of the frenchman (why dont europeans like the fresh stuff? weirdos)
I prefer the taste of non-uht blue milk, but rarely buy it as i get used to it too quickly.

i don't like milk on it's own. the only time i really have it is with cereal and when i do i have semi-skimmed. dunno why, just 'cause it's what my mum buys.

Thunderstruck

Blue milk tastes the way I remember milk tasting when I used to have it in school and during the days when we still got it delivered by the milkman:yum: . Green is ok. Red just tastes like rotten water.

Oh I wasn't saying give a shit about your post Frank, but about VV saying that this was in the wrong forum.

Me neither - if you're gonna have milk you might as well have it all.

We do buy Cravendale Milk though much more higly filtered then normal milk - keeps for ages without going bad, and hopefully removes soem of the junk in modern cow's milk with all the hormones and stuff they pump into cows.

Tesco's produce their own version of it but don't like the taste

No idea what to put for the poll, but I use 1% milk in my cereal and to cook with. Don't put milk in tea or coffee. (Unless its out, then I get skim) Never drink milk either.

2% and up is just too thick and gross for me and skim in my cereal is too watery.

blue capped full fat.

tastes better, and besides, it's still like 95% fat free, so what've you got to complain about? :p

red is peutrid. think if a cow generated this type of milk, it'd be called a RUNT and no-one would want their milk

Thunderstruck

how is full fat 95% fat free?

Full fat doesn't mean that the bottle is just liquified fat! 5% is the percentage of fat that normally occurs in milk and so it's full fat as none of it has been taken out of the milk.

RubberSkin

Also 'full fat' has come to mean the non diet/low fat/low sugar version. Like my mate says 'full fat coke' i.e. ordinary coke.

I love blue milk. It is my favourite. However, it is quite rich and too rich for the boys tender tummy. Normally buy green milk but will sometimes get me blue milk for a change.

I heart milk. I could live on milky things and just drink milk all day long.

Used to drink full fat, moved on to semi and now anything other than skimmed is like drinking cream.

There's nowt like fresh unpasteurised milk though :yum:

:)

yup, like I said, I dunno what the problem is! like RubberSkin said, it's only "full fat" because none of it's been taken out, doesn't mean it was 100% fat to start with :p

Apparently organic full fat milk is even better for you because of the type of fat it contains, including omega 3's, but I say apparently because there is a bit of controversy about it. You can read a bit more about it in this article (http://www.guardian.co.uk/food/Story/0,,1859487,00.html) from the Guardian.

I don't like milk at all :yuck:

I'll obviously have things that have milk in them as a random ingredient, but I'd never have a glass of milk, milk in my tea or milk on my cereal.

Think I might have had a bad experience when I was a kid or something.
