To know when spaghetti is cooked, take a strand and throw it at the wall. If it sticks, it's cooked.

In practice that doesnt really work because pasta straight out of the pan is fucking hot and its hard to throw it with enough force to stick to the wall when you're trying not to burn your hand

ETA: If we're adding tips - Put black pepper on strawberries to bring out the flavour

Buy a metal sieve and put it in a saucepan (with lid on top) with a small amount of water in to steam vegetables (if you don't have a steamer).

I repeat, EVERYTHING tastes better with balsamico.

Instead of trying to thicken your sauces with flour, try cheese. Yum.

When cooking fresh fish with the skin on always use seasoned plain flour (a hem). Therefore it will not stick or blister and should cause the skin to go golden brown and slightly crispy... "bootiful"

(I asked a chef)

ETA: changed flower to flour!

seasoned plain flower.

Would I need to use rose petals, or would a daisy do?

:D

When boiling rice or pasta, put a stock cube in the water to make it taste better.

Just learned that the other day actually. It's a better method than tasting it, imo.

To make the crispiestof bacon, plac bacon in hot fat for 4 minutes, do not touch or move except once after the 4 mins to turn it over. Repeat for the other side.
Moving the bacon causes the liquid in the bacon to move around, making it non-crispy.
