I posted this in Going Out but thought about posting it here to give it more exposure.....
...And at the same time help out Katy?
Who's Katy? http://www.katysplace-katy.blogspot.com
How did I get to know about her? Through this email from my friend Liz.
"Dear all
Please excuse the blanket email but a) I need to reach as many people as possible as quickly as possible and b) my gingersoprano account seems to be misbehaving, so I’ve set up this new email account – please could you update your records.
Many of you, by now, will have heard the devastating news of Katy Tansey’s illness. If the news hasn’t reached you yet, or if you don’t know Katy, you can read more at www.katysplace-katy.blogspot.com).
Katy and Tom are planning to go to the Bristol Cancer Centre in a few weeks for a five-day course of treatment; in addition to the pain and trauma this will cause them, it will also cost them around £2,000.
Chris Foster and I are in the early stages of organising a relief concert to raise at least this amount of money – we’re looking into venues at the moment and, at this stage, we’d like to ask you if you’re available either to attend or to participate on any of the following dates (we’re going to put together a choir of around 40-50 and an orchestra of around 35-40 – please don’t be offended if we’re unable to accommodate your wish to take part – there’s bound to be an overwhelming response to this – Katy’ll be delighted to see you there to support her in any case):
Tuesday November 21
Wednesday November 22
Thursday November 23
Tuesday December 12
Wednesday December 13
Thursday December 14
Please could you copy and paste the above dates with your name and voice part/instrument, plus your contact address. If you’re not a musician, but would like to help with any other aspect of the concert (publicity, catering, selling tickets, or anything else you can think of), please also reply to this as soon as possible.
The venue is very likely to be in London, possibly at Katy’s own church in Wimbledon, but all that’s to be confirmed later. If you have any questions, my contact details are below.
Cheers, and thanks for reading this.
With love,
Liz xx"
So if you can help in any way, shape or form or you know someone who can, please email Liz at elizabeth@elizabethfranklinkitchen.com or email me if you want.
Thanks for your help,
Alex
