I want shephards pie for tea but there is no milk for the mash and no money to go to the shop. I have cream (possibly) and butter. Is it possible?

i never use milk, just butter, maybe sometimes add some cream, if i run out of both then i use veg oil but not a lot. milk makes it too runny i find

i use milk sometimes, but its fine without.
cream would be a bit decadent.

I tell a lie, I sometimes use milk if the potatoes are a bit dry....but if you only have butter and they are dry, try adding a small amount of water
