I was wondering what effect alcohol has on the birth control pill.
Say if a girl on the pill, and has a few drink now and again.
Or what if she gets totally drunk once while on the pill?
Is the pill still effective?

The pill releases hormones into the bloodstream, and as such alcohol does not affect it.
Can you not read the instruction leaflet like everyone else?

It's a fair enough question though. So many things stop the pill being effective that you can never be entirely sure.
Plus my instruction leaflet once turned up in Greek, so that was a laugh to read

Like Ali said, alcohol is fine with it, until you throw up, at which point you risk throwing up the pill too. If you're likely to do that then fiddle the time you take it to be well away from (or shortly after) when you may be sick to give it as long as possible in your system.

The reason I cannot read the leaflet is that I'm a guy and I'm wanting a little more information before I talk to my GF about birth control.
Thanks for the info everyone.
