It's a nice place. Worth going once. If you do decide to go, make sure you book yourself the 2-day Sahara Desert excursion. It's well worth it and one of the things not to miss.

Negative points are: can be a little boring, shops all sell the same stuff.

Positive: Relaxing holiday, beaches are ok, Sahara Desert excursion was good.

Tunisia's not a really exciting place, but that was the thing I most enjoyed. There's a description on the Thomson website here:

£70 is only the cost of the excursion, but it's still worth it. It includes the coach journey and overnight stay at a hotel (ours was 5* but sometimes it's 4*)

That is a must!! It is fantastic!! I went there in easter for a week, you go on a coach for two days (you can do different length ones but we chose not to because you'll be doing that instead of exploring) and i can't remember where we stayed now but we made our way from pretty much the top of the country to the bottom, stopping off at different tourist points and places of interest in the country, your guide (well ours did) should tell you lots of interesing information about the country and the life over there. You get to the "gateway to the desert" (can't remember the town) chuck your stuff in the hotel and have a short drive to this center where your able to ride camels, in the desert at sunset!! It is amazing, it really it it's so beautiful and your out there for a good hour (i think we were out there for about an hour adn a half) walking quite far out into the desert! I've been on camels before but this was superb! You leave extremly early the next morning to go see the sun rise at one of the salt places (can't remember what/where it's called/is) and see different parts of the country on the way back. One warning - do not get sunburnt the day before your ment to go, it's agony on the coach!!

If you can go quad biking out there, it's soooo cool!!! It's brilliant when your behind al te main roads and you see another side of Tunisia which you would have missed!!

It's one of those countries you love or hate. I loved it i thought it was really nice over there. You can see how much more friendly people are out there. A few things you should be weary about though, some of the men out there are a little too friendly and you want to be careful with them, when walking about the shops in the old towns and things, alot of the shops are touristy and some literaly pull you into the shops but just carry on walking and say politely "No thank you". And when your coming out of your hotel, there will always be men saying "Hello, do you remember me, i was your waiter?" No there not! A man said that too me as we came to look around and we hadn't even had a drink in there! He tired to steal my watch as he shook my hand, i was too trusting. He then continued to follow us for a while but he got bored and buggered off.

It was boiling in easter, about 30 degrees and the locals over there were wearing jumpers!! JUMPERS!! Of course they were use to it but for us brits it was a tad warm, i don't want to think how hot it's going to be in the summer!! Over there luckily you don't feel the humidity so it's not sticky hot..

I think we stayed in a 3* hotel (not on the excurtion (sp)) and it was like a palace! It was a little old but it was kept spotless and the service was fantastic!! I would recommend getting a safe if your hotel has one and keeping passports, tickets ect in there instead of you room when your out and about.

Hope some of this helps!! :)
