I think it's a lot! :p

Maybe not in London, but for a youngster up here, that ain't bad at all. Salaried, that's about £18,000 - £24,000. Although I guess it depends how old you are and what profession you're in.

taking into account my annual salary (and not just my FDP :p ) how do I work out how much I earn an hour?

Work out many hours you work a week/month, by your contract or otherwise, and multiply it up by 52 (weekly) or 12 (monthly) to get the total number of hours worked in the year. Divide your annual salary by the total number of hours worked, and you get your hourly rate.

At the Co-op I earn £5.21, and when I start at Stationery Box (ugh) in October I will be earning £4.25 or something equally rubbish. It's better than no money I suppose!

I'm working for the Environment Agency.Wow my mum will be so jealous! She did and environmental degree but can't get a job as she hasn't got experience, so how can she get experience?! No time for voluntary as need to earn a living and too expensive to specialise as you don't get loans etc.
How did you get with them?

Through an agency. I know down here they get a lot of their environmental people through Reed, maybe she could try them?

I get £4.78 at the mo, but have just had an annual pay rise, am due another pay rise, as have been in the shit hole for a whole year, and am also due another pay rise in Oct when I'm 18. If I make it that long, and judging by our new temp manager- one of us won't last long! Think the problem may be that I'm too opinionated, gobby etc lol. Ahhh well.
