Can anyone help? I’m researching a piece on "fuck buddies" (or, to use the euphemism, "friends with benefits") for one of the UK women’s glossies. Anyone here who fits the category (and, preferably, lives in the UK) care to talk to me about it? If you want, you can remain anonymous, though it isn't a shock, horror expose piece. I just want to describe what seems to be a growing social trend.

Have you received permission from the moderators for this? You do need it if you want to use the boards for research purposes.

I've had a fuck buddy, one that lasted about a year. It only really came to an end because I met my current fella.

I had one. Ended in a bit of a disaster because I got too emotionally involved. And he just wanted sex.

Oops.

Well it's good to see that thought-provoking and ground-breaking journalism is still alive and well.

Twat.

Is this what constitutes being a twat (http://www.cix.co.uk/~hewitt/biog.htm)? I wouldn't mind being one if that's the case. It's just an article on fuck buddies - something that we've got here on TheSite and wouldn't shy away from asking people to talk about/interview about.

I don't know.

I read through some of his pieces on his site and hes actually quite a good writer. Unless TWAT stands for 'terrific writing ability - tremendous' I'm a bit lost.
